Locksmith Training Course Syllabus
1 & 2 Day Lock Picking Course
This short course is available for those who just want to get into picking cylinders and lever locks. You won't be an expert after such a short time but the aim is to give you the techniques and skill set to pick locks. It is then up to you to practice!
The price for the 2 DAY course: £400
I can also offer a tailored course to suit your individual needs e.g. if you just want a day on opening techniques for UPVC doors then give me a call.
The price for a 1 DAY course: £200
Most of the training would be conducted during the week, but I may be willing to provide weekend training in exceptional circumstances

5 Day Locksmith Training Course
Day 1) 9.00am to 4.30pm
Introductions & Health & Safety. Rim Cylinders - disassemble & build. How to make a key to a rim cylinder (Yale type). Euro-cylinders (used on UPVC doors). Opening cylinders - introduction to opening techniques - hand picking, electric picking, snapping, drilling. Tricks of the trade.
Day 2) 9.00am to 4.30pm
Review - practice opening rim cylinders, opening Euro-cylinders and other types of locks in common use - Shutter Locks, Padlocks. Wafer Locks, cupboard locks, desk locks, filing cabinets, digital locks.
Day 3) 9.00am to 4.30pm
Review - day one and two. Introduction to mortice locks - 2, 3 , 5 lever and 5 lever British Standard. Mortice locks - disassemble & build. Opening techniques for 3 and 5 lever mortice locks.
Day 4) 9.00am to 4.30pm
Identifying locks and destructive opening of locks and use of covert opening kits. Practical test - open the test doors.
Day 5) 9.00am to 3.00pm
Lock fitting, practical fitting rim cylinders, mortice locks. Q & A Session. Review the week and areas to practise. Practical business advice - getting started, subcontracting, advertising, target customers and other ways of making money etc..
